This individual revolution based on self-respect, gradually integrated over several years, has been the Source of an incredible release of Creativity!

"HUMANITY" ... MATYER's pieces leave room for the unexpected, the accidental, fragility, small flaws  who make it "  the grain, the salt, the heat, the living dimension  »  : sounds that he could erase and that he chooses to keep, like breathing noises, a few notes "  on the wire  », «  slippery  » … which evoke the fact of stumbling and getting up, of making a misstep  and correct it etc.  !

This aesthetic bias - like the fact of using certain evocative noises that are part  integral to his music – was born from a meditation on imperfection  : “  What is a defect  ? A mistake  ? What differentiates the beautiful from the ugly  ?  »

… There is in his aesthetic this “  welcome of the real, of finitude  which is at work in Sino-Japanese painting: where all the beauty and grace of the never retouched line come from its  imperfection  »  … more specifically “  missing  » and "roughness" in the line left by the brush and the ink on the paper  : which would be academic and banal if it were perfectly smooth and full  !
